"Reducing Data Usage with IPTV Apps – Any Tips?"

Offline
Hey everyone,

I’ve been using TiviMate Premium for IPTV live & VOD content, and I really enjoy it. However, I’ve noticed that my data usage is quite high, averaging over 3GB per hour. I’m looking for ways to reduce this usage without compromising too much on quality.

Does anyone know if other IPTV apps allow you to adjust video quality or bitrate settings to lower data consumption? I couldn’t find any options in TiviMate for this, unfortunately.

I’m on a 1TB data cap with my internet provider, and I’d prefer not to upgrade to an unlimited plan if possible. I was thinking about trying IPTV Smarters Pro, but I noticed it requires payment upfront.

Any suggestions or advice would be really appreciated! Thanks in advance!

A few things that helped me on a capped connection: first, check whether your player lets you pick a lower-resolution stream from your playlist — dropping from 4K to 1080p, or 1080p to 720p for everyday viewing, makes the biggest difference by far. Second, turn off any background or auto-play features and close the player when you are not watching, as some apps keep a stream running in the background. Third, if your playlist offers the same channel in multiple qualities, favourite the lower-quality version for daily use and keep the high-quality one only for big events. Finally, check your router or device data-usage stats once a week so you can see which device is actually using the data before you hit the cap.
