Kodi on Firestick 4k, what's a better device?

The Firestick has so many problems - not enough storage for my library images, always rescaling for no reason, and most annoyingly I'm always having to adjust the sound delay. I had it set up to stream from my Time Capsule until I put the TC in bridging mode to use on my landlady's network and it couldn't find the shares anymore. I'm kind of sick of it and want to get something better, but I'm not familiar with the market. I have an AndroidTV, a Hisense H9F, and I don't know how I feel about connecting it to the Internet directly but could I install Kodi on it? Otherwise, what's a good HDMI stick like device that I could install it on that won't have all these problems? Thanks!
