might be an error in the cache in the fire tv
The apk opens ok with me
.. uninstall and install and try again.
 
I don’t know if it’s the service or tivimate or my isp, but the picture will freeze while the audio still plays. Zi go up a channel and then back down and it’s fine for a while. Any ideas?

I have this exact same issue when I'm playing from my Firestick but no problems on my Nvidia shield so I've been blaming it on the device.

was it firestick 2k or firestick 4k?
 
If the firestick causing issues. Could be that latest software update. I recommend trying to resetting the firestick to factory default to make sure you clear all cache issues
