Ah, the marvelous 250th anniversary gift to the American public. UFC on the lawn of the White House! Maybe 10% of the American public actually watches UFC. The administration's deceptive claim that a $60m event being underwritten by UFC is entirely a matter of optics. Advertising a massive event at the executive mansion as costing taxpayers "nothing" is technically true only if you ignore the value of thousands of hours of federal labor, massive regional logistics, and local municipal strain. So the American taxpayer will actually be paying at least $15m for those few who care about UFC. I like UFC. I'll look at it for the laughs and the embarrassment to have this as a celebration of 250 years on the lawn of the White House. Thanks for making it available, OB! While the whole world laughs at us.
