Tivimate icon

Can someone tell me what this icon means and how to get rid of it
The pic is a little blurry. Is it a clock icon? If so..that usually means it’s available on Catchup. Do you see a clock icon on your channels on the EPG screen as well?

Then that is what it is. It’s an icon for Catchup. It lets you know you have Catchup available for those channels.

Catchup is like having a built in DVR with your service. It allows you to go back in time and watch previously aired programs. How far back you can go varies with each service. Some allow you to go back a day or 2 and some providers even let you go back up to 7 days.

Your question was originally how do you get rid of the icon. To disable Catchup for your provider if you don’t want the icon or will never use this feature..go to Settings..click Appearance..TV Guide. Scroll down and turn off the setting for “Show catch-up icon in channels list”. That should disable the icon for you.

If you need instructions on how to access or use Catchup..just let me know.

To use this feature..when you are on the main EPG screen for your service..long press the left button..meaning hold it down for a second or 2 before releasing it. The guide will then move backwards in time. You can go backwards to watch a program that aired an hour ago or a day ago depending on what your provider offers. Once you find the program you want to watch..just click your select button. The program should load and play for you.

Another way to access Catchup is to click your select button while watching a program..then click TV Guide on the pop up menu. The EPG will go full screen in overlay and you can long press your left button to go back in time that way.

Or you can click a channel while watching with your select button..then click your down button when you get the pop up menu and you will get a 2nd menu. Click “channels list”. You will get a screen with your channels on the left and an hourly list of programs for the channel highlighted in the middle. Then click right and you will see a list of days that you can change to easily go back further in time. Find the program you want to watch and click select.

Remember..how far you can go back in time and actually watch previously aired programs varies with providers.
