I'm trying to watch recently released content (2021) but the picture quality is very average. Running on either Tivimate internal player or VLC.

Can anyone advise whether trying other

players is realistically going to make substantial improvements? And if so, which ones are recommended?

If it's not playing well on those two, another player won't make a dif. Sounds like the quality of the source that's the issue.
