Error code 416

A friend has when trying to watch movies. I don't (using the same hardware - Firestick, and the same version of TiviMate) so I think it could be a problem related to his network rather than anything else.

Yeah, tell them to unplug their modem and device for 5 or 10 minutes and clear tivimate cache.
