Blocked when using NordVPN

This just started early this morning. I was watching via Tivimate and as usual with NordVPN connected. All was fine but then connection was lost. For the last 6 hours or so, I get the "An error occcurred: HttpDataSource$HttpDataSourceException Retrying (x/5)" error when trying to view LiveTV and VOD.

I can view all (live TV and VOD) when I disconnect NordVPN, but not with it connected. I've tried different servers, TCP, UDP, automatic without luck. I'm also able to view other things with NordVPN connected (Tubi, Prima, and I get over 100Mb/s throughput on the browser running Husham's Speed/Throttle test) so doesn't appear to be issues with NordVPN.

Could NordVPN be blocked on the Mobus end? Any ideas?

Troubleshooting NordVPN Blocking Issues
It sounds like your NordVPN is being blocked by your internet provider. This actually happens fairly often with some VPN providers.
Here are some quick things to try:
1. Switch to a different NordVPN server (try a few countries, not just the recommended one).
2. Change the protocol:
* NordLynx
* OpenVPN UDP
* OpenVPN TCP
3. If you’ve got obfuscated servers available, use one of those.
4. Set custom DNS in NordVPN (1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8) and test again.
Also, it's worth clearing TiviMate’s cache and reloading the playlist after switching servers.
Did you try a different application, because it could be a TiviMate issue only?

I'll give your list a try and post here, but why do the other apps work fine being connected to NordVPN?

I've tested watching on Prime and Tubi, plus get good throughput results when running Husham's Throttle speedtest site while connected to NordVPN (and no indication of throttling, lol). If my Internet provider is blocking NordVPN, then all these should be blocked. Maybe these aren't conclusive tests, but that's how I ruled out it being NordVPN...

Lol, and I need to find another app and test..that's the one thing I hadn't tried. Issue is I had Smarters but seems there are so many versions I can't tell which is the legit one! Have a link handy (or is it back in Play Store)?

It can still be your ISP interfering, just not blocking the whole of NordVPN the entire internet.

A lot of ISPs only target specific streaming endpoints, not the entire VPN.

That’s why Prime, Tubi, Netflix, Disney+ etc. still work fine.

Those services run on big CDN networks with heavy local caching, so the traffic is much harder for an ISP to interfere with cleanly.

IPTV streams are more direct and don’t use the same cached routes, which makes them easier to affect when a VPN is involved.

Try the different servers and protocols I mentioned earlier and see if any of them get around it.

Well...same result with various other servers in other countries (Toronto, Frankfurt, etc) along with switching the protocol to TCP, UDP, and auto. Tried obfuscated servers as well. All without any luck :-(

Just tested on my laptop by installing an IPTV player and see if being connected to NordVPN caused a stoppage too. Same result - connected it couldn't play. Temporarily disconnected it played fine until a minute or two after I reconnected. Then back to blocked.

Hmm, so NordVPN is no longer available to help if/when I get a buffering issue. Guess (knocking on wood hard) I can only hope it doesn't crop up, lol.
